If the game can't handle more than 20 settlers devs should really take this as priority. It's a fact that it came a bit of surprise to me that there's soft/hard cap of 20 settlers. massive ready-to-go maps, and more from the creators at Hivemind. Noone is crying - I still enjoy playing the game on survival mode. Viking villages, pirate islands, medieval towns, and more build the game world youre. At that point are you really getting into the details and managing each settler's work schedule, equipment, skills, etc? Yeah I seriously doubt it. I don't know yet what an ideal number of settlers would be, but saying >100 is a bit silly. There are a lot of factors involved, >20 settlers is likely going to massively increase the amount of computing power required for the game to run and be stable. Originally posted by mizugori:Guys you realize this is early access right? Like the game's been out a WEEK and folks are crying in their cheerios about 'only' being able to have 20 settlers. To be honest - a bit disappointed with this soft cap They should of name the game "Going medieval with 20 peasants" The amount of enemies you get in each raid later in the game keeps increasing and im sure you will get to the point where there will be 20 vs 100+ and im sure I would still be able to handle it If you are planning to expand the base and production there's no way you can maintain it with 20 people and keep every unit up and running + recycle every loot raid drops. That being said, you can easily end up having your settlers waste days of labor planting crops you’ll never need. There are a few different types of drinks you can brew in Going Medieval. Farming is relatively straightforward in Going Medieval: you designate an area for crops using the Zone menu F7, they grow, and your settlers will automatically harvest them (assuming someone has been assigned to do so). Once you have produced something to drink, your settlers will automatically consume this when they get thirsty. at a certain point theres gaps of 2yrs some have said they didnt get settlers for 7yrs but in my experience 2 was longest i went. besides that, think it will be possible to capture and recruit raiders at some point in the game.well its on road map and no idea when, but this would mean you can have a lot more than these 20 villagers. In Going Medieval, your settlers are basically all a bunch of alcoholics. Think someone mentioned already that there is no hard cap but a soft cap at 20 peope which leads to a very rare chance of new settlers. If there's hard cap of 20 peasants may as well delete the game Currently on day 550+/- last joiner was on day 350+/. im stuck at 20 peasants for the last 200 days. Feels like there's hard cap on max population.
